Compaq has opened a centre dedicated to wireless technology in Sweden, claiming 20 per cent of the company's revenues will come from wireless products within three years.

Over the next year, Compaq will invest $60m in its wireless division, said Kasper Rosted, vice president of enterprise solutions at Compaq, with the IPAQ pocket PC leading the product range. The centre, located in Stockholm, employs 20 people to showcase the latest wireless technology from Compaq, including Bluetooth, GSM and WAP. Customers can use the centre to test and demonstrate wireless applications.
