I wrote about my experiences using T-Mobile in Spain with free data and text messaging. With today's Mobile without Borders announcement customers will get free calling, texting, and data when traveling north to Canada or south to Mexico.

As someone who lives in Washington State and travels to Canada on a regular basis, I;m happy that having coverage in Canada is going to take away the pain of international calling. In addition to calling to and from land lines and mobile phones in these countries, T-Mobile is also offering 4G LTE data.

This extended coverage starts on 15 July and will be available for Simple Choice postpaid and prepaid customers. Business customers get this extended coverage for free for the first 10 lines with $1 per month for each line beyond that.

T-Mobile's data shows that 35 percent of all international calls and 55 percent of all international travel from the U.S. was to Mexico & Canada alone. Over 70 percent of international trips taken by small and mid-sized business travelers were to Mexico and Canada.

A couple of weeks ago T-Mobile introduced JUMP! On Demand and with this new expanded coverage T-Mobile is setting the bar for customer options.
