T-Mobile in the UK has come clean with pricing and an upcoming release date for the budget-friendly HTC Wildfire.
Essentially a "slimmed-down version" of the HTC Desire (Droid Eris), the HTC Wildfire is geared towards a youthful crowd, with a focus on social networking apps and a low monthly price tag. Sounds like another set of mobile devices recently released.
Based on Android 2.1, here's a quick look at some of what the 4.2-ounce HTC Wildfire has to offer:
- 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display
- 5-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash
- MP3 player and radio
- 3.5mm audio jack
- micro SD card
- Preloaded apps: Facebook, Twitter, Flickr
- Unique programs: App Sharing (sharing Android apps with friends), Friend Stream (collecting social network updates on one menu)
The HTC Wildfire will be available on T-Mobile UK on June 14 for as low as £20 ($30) per month with a two-year contract. The Wildfire will also be made available on Virgin Mobile in the UK, so pricing and release info on that initiative is sure to follow soon.
