Business analytics software solutions provider Tableau Software has appointed Nigel Mendonca as the company's first country manager for Australia and New Zealand.
Mendonca will be responsible for driving the growth of Tableau in Australia and New Zealand. He brings more than 22 years of technology expertise, having previously held senior roles at Symantec, Salmat, and Xpedite Systems/PGi.
The company is already working with customers including large enterprises and government agencies, as well as Ray White, University of Western Sydney, and Sportsbet.
Mendonca's appointment comes at a time when the company's Australia-based team has nearly doubled in the past year, including the creation of a multilingual Asia-Pacific technical support office based in Sydney.
"Australia and New Zealand's organisations are pursuing analytics initiatives to leverage data-driven decisions in a fast and easy way. We are excited to expand the power of data analytics and Tableau to this region," said JY Pook, Tableau Software Asia-Pacific vice president.
"Nigel Mendonca will lead our efforts to grow the Tableau footprint in this important market with focus on customer success."
Last month, the Seattle-based business reported that it finished 2014 on a high note, generating $412.6 million in revenue, up 78 percent year over year.
In similar news, Sophos has appointed Joe Levy as the company's new chief technology officer, who will lead the company's technology strategy worldwide. Levy was previously the CTO for Blue Coat Systems, and also held the CTO role at SonicWall.
