KUALA LUMPUR--State-owned Telekom Malaysia believes the operator of the only 100 percent fiber-optic network, Time dotCom is a "good fit", according to Telekom chief executive officer Md Khir Abdul Rahman.
"They (Time dotCom) have the best network along the North-South Highway and all their base stations are along the highway," he told reporters yesterday.
The Edge reported that Md Khir however, remained coy when asked if Telekom was interested in a stake in Time dotCom.
Time dotCom offers voice and data services over fixed and wireless networks, as well as operates the ADAM cellular service, and a network of coin and card phones in the country.
Speculative reports recently indicated that Maxis was interested in the 30 percent stake in Time dotCom currently held by the government's investment arm, Khazanah Nasional.
Khazanah had indicated in the past that it was looking for a buyer for its stake in Time dotCom.
