Sony has officially announced a release date and price point for the Xperia Play, the first PlayStation-certified phone.

Available via Verizon, American consumers players can finally get the hands on the device on May 26th. Featuring a 4-inch screen, 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, and Dualshock-inspired control pad, the Xperia Play really does sound like Sony Ericsson crammed a PlayStation into it. The device retails for $199 with a two-year contract.

Of course, a PlayStation Phone is mostly useless without Playstation games to play on it. That's why Sony Ericsson is bundling seven games with the Xperia Play:

  • Madden NFL 11
  • Bruce Lee Dragon Warrior
  • Asphalt 6: Adrenaline
  • The Sims 3
  • Star Battalion,
  • Crash Bandicoot
  • Tetris
