The sun rises on Google Earth

Google Earth has added a new layer in partnership with the Discovery Channel that lets you see video and photography of one of the natures most beautiful events -- sunrise.  The new feature can be enabled by following these steps:Find the "Layers" sectionExpand the "Featured Content" nodeExpand the "Discovery Network" nodeEnable the "Sunrise Earth" layer by placing a check mark in the box next to it.

Google Earth has added a new layer in partnership with the Discovery Channel that lets you see video and photography of one of the natures most beautiful events -- sunrise.  The new feature can be enabled by following these steps:

  1. Find the "Layers" section
  2. Expand the "Featured Content" node
  3. Expand the "Discovery Network" node
  4. Enable the "Sunrise Earth" layer by placing a check mark in the box next to it.

For those visiting or living here in Saskatchewan, it's not uncommon to see a great sunrise -- it's one of the reasons this province is known as the "Land of the Living Skies".

With the help of Google Earth now, I can find other exotic places to watch the same event -- like over Myan pyramids, or in California's Sierra Mountains.  Who knows, maybe one day we will be able to watch them in real time from anywhere on the planet!
