Summertime is little more than a month away. For much of the U.S., that means the risk of thunderstorms, and resulting power outages.

If you are running VoIP in your enterprise, you don't want to know what will happen if you lose power. Then again, you probably already do know.

Tripp Lite, one of the leading power protection management solutions and hardware providers, has posted an interesting and helpful white paper on how to safeguard your power supply, and your VoIP.

Hint: doing so requires much more than getting some giant power strips, hoping for the best, and giving thanks when they work.

While the white paper is entitled "Practical Power Guidelines for Cisco VoIP and Internet Telephony," its 24 pages are packed with power management best prqactices applicable to almost any enterprise VoIP application environment.

Here's the link.
