Tiny denies takeover rumours

PC maker accuses rivals of starting rumours
Written by Jane Wakefield, Contributor

Tiny responds to rumours it is about to be bought by Dixons with a vehement denial, accusing rivals of spreading the gossip.

A story appearing on online publication The Register suggested the PC manufacturer is being eyed by Dixons as a possible acquisition. The original story appeared in tech magazine Microscope

Tiny denies this. "The information printed in The Register and Microscope magazine about Tiny Computers is completely untrue. Tiny is not, and has never been, in discussion with the Dixon's Stores Group. Neither have we entered into any commercial negotiations," reads a statement.

It goes on to state that is has no financial problems and that the rumours have been generated "as a smokescreen by some of some our competitors who themselves may be experiencing financial difficulties".
