Toshiba rolls out notebooks

Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. announced two new "value-oriented" notebook PCs on Monday. The Irvine, Calif., PC maker will offer the Satellite 1605CDS model, starting at $1,199, with a 12.1-inch dual-scan display, a 450MHz Advanced Micro Devices Inc. K6-2 processor and 32MB of RAM. The company's Satellite 1625CDT, priced at $1,599, will come with a 12.1-inch thin-film transistor display, 475MHz K6-2 and 64MB of RAM.
