Toshiba Australia has announced it will launch its own tablet product in Australia at the end of this month.

The Tablet is set to launch at the price of $579, with additional six-cell replacement batteries available for $79.95.
Named the Toshiba Tablet, the 10.1-inch HD multi-touch device will be powered by a 1GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 1GB Nvidia GeForce graphics and will run Android Honeycomb. It has as an LED backlit screen with a resolution of 1280x800 and will be available with up to 32GB internal storage, which is expandable via its built-in SD card slot.
Further connectivity is provided in the form of a full-size HDMI port, a standard-sized USB 2.0 port, as well as a mini-USB port, 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS sensor. On the media front, the Tablet features a 2-megapixel (MP) front-facing camera, a 5MP rear-facing camera, stereo speakers and integrated microphone.
The Tablet will weigh a little over 720g and has a user-replaceable 23Wh Lithium-ion battery, which is hidden behind a removable back cover.
