More and more Americansx are using mass transit. One study shows a 30% increase since 1995. Of course, that's not keeping pace with the rise in gasoline prices. The study was done by the American Public Transit Association.

Want to see a really big number? In the first half of 2007 Americans made 78,000,000 more transit trips than in the same six months in 2006. The grand total of trips taken, mostly by commuters: over 5,000,000,000 in the U.S. And from personal observation I would say 53.6% of all riders have MP3, mobile phone or iPod speakers in their ears.
