UK field computer maker Husky acquired
UK rugged portable computer maker Husky Computers has been acquired by WPI Group of the US in a deal worth £13 million.
Coventry-based Husky has become a familiar name in the niche market for rugged field hardware and has grown to include operations in France, Germany, Sweden and the US.
Manchester, New Hampshire-based WPI will use the Husky acquisition to build presence in Europe. The new company will be known as WPI Husky.
"We have targeted Husky for three years and watch them grow into the world's premier supplier of rugged, field computers," said WPI group president John Whitehead.
