The research, conducted by Computer Weekly and Kew Associates, found that IT spending rose by 5.2% in Q4 2003, up from 3.9% in Q3. Small firms were particularly keen to splash out of new technology, with start-ups increasing their spending on IT equipment by 7.5% over the last quarter, compared with a rise of just 3.9% in larger companies.
