PC sales in the UK grew by 18% during 2004, according to IDC. More than 2.6 mln machines were shipped during Q3 2004. 35% of them were notebook PCs. Desktop sales increased by 9%, with Intel-based server system revenues growing by 13%. Dell is the biggest PC company in the UK, with 21.5% market share and a sales increase of 42% in Q4. HP is second with 16% of the market, but with Q4 2004 sales dropped 2.8%. IBM PC sales grew 35%.
