US broadband penetration is 28.4% at the end of 2004

In-Stat/MDR forecasts that nearly 70% of US households will have Internet access by the end of this year. The next, and most important step comes from increasing broadband penetration.

In-Stat/MDR forecasts that nearly 70% of US households will have Internet access by the end of this year. The next, and most important step comes from increasing broadband penetration. At the end of 2003, In-Stat/MDR estimates that the US market had reached approximately 20% broadband penetration of all US households, and is forecasting 28.4% penetration by the end of 2004. As a percentage of online households, broadband penetration will be nearly 41% by the end of this year. Broadband usage has reached the point now where there exists a market to support various Internet services and products.
