With new PC models debuting each year, it's important to consider the quality of technical support service your computer vendor offers. What should you look for in assessing technical support services? First of all, technical support can be acquired in several ways—via phone, the Web, or in-person. When ZDNet users went to Apple's Web site for help, they found locating technical support guides to be extremely easy. In addition, those users needing phone support found Apple's contact information in a snap. When calling Apple's technical support line, ZDNet users spent less time waiting for the right person to answer their questions in comparison to 13 other vendor help lines.

But what about customer satisfaction? Great phone and Web support are fine and dandy, but are Apple users really happy about the support they've received? Overwhelmingly, ZDNet users answered yes: Not only were they satisfied with the vendor's resolution to their problem, but they also found the support technicians to be courteous and knowledgeable. Overall, Apple ranked highest with users who were completely satisfied with their technical support experience.

Finally, ZDNet users who bought a desktop computer from Apple agreed that they would recommend purchasing another Apple computer based on the company's technical support services.
