Utilities to spend $115.9 bln on IT by 2009

IT spending in the utilities industry is expected to reach $115.9 bln by 2009. Electric and gas utilities account for about $94 bln of forecast spending. Water utilities account for the remaining $21.9 bln, Gartner reports.
