Verizon added Hewlett-Packard and Salesforce to its roster of partners for its Secure Cloud Interconnect service,
With the move, Verizon is positioning its infrastructure and hosting service as the one with the most options to cloud providers. HP and Salesforce join Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google as Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect (SCI) partners.
Secure private cloud connections have become critical to enterprises who are blending public services and private data centers. These private connections enable companies to cut latency and secure data in transit more easily.
Verizon said HP's Helion managed cloud service and Salesforce's Customer Success Platform will connect to SCI. For HP, Verizon's SCI will offer pre-integrated wireless and IP data networking services. SCI for connect to Salesforce's various applications and aim to boost performance.
Cloud providers have been racing to provide private connections to data center hosting companies like Equinix, Verizon, AT&T and others.
