There are a few requirements (obviously) to take advantage of this next 3D-first opportunity. The highly-awaited preseason game will be shown on FiOS Channel 834 for FiOS TV subscribers in the New York City metropolitan area (including Long Island, Westchester and Rockland counties), northern New Jersey, Mercer County, N.J., Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Everyone must have 3D-ready TVs, an HD set-top box for the broadcast, and a pair of those lovely 3D glasses for every viewer in the room.
Given that most viewers still don't have all of those tech gadgets, it's going to take awhile for watching 3D sports to catch on. But it should still be wild to check out, nonetheless, and Verizon is even making it possible for more fans to see the game in 3D at viewing parties in New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
