I get amazing Verizon LTE coverage and will soon be experiencing significantly faster speeds thanks to their increased capacity rollout.

Yesterday was the third anniversary of Verizon's LTE launch and along with remembering that day Verizon reportedly tripled its LTE capacity in major cities.

I happen to live near one of those cities, Seattle, and today my new Verizon Nokia Lumia 2520 arrives so I can check out the new peak speeds that can be as high as 80 Mbps.

In addition to the increased speeds, the updated LTE network will support more connections. I remember seeing incredible speeds on my HTC ThunderBolt back in 2011, but the average speeds have slowed down a bit due to network congestion that they are working to alleviate.

Verizon stated that more than 66 percent of their data is now on LTE. Next year, they will start rolling out Voice over LTE (VoLTE) that will bring HD Voice and video chat support. They will also start offering roaming LTE outside the US in select countries.
