Consumer interest in 3D gaming may be tepid so far, but that isn't preventing companies like ViewSonic from standing behind the technology.
ViewSonic's latest effort is the V3D231, a 23-inch 3D LED monitor. Billed as the ideal monitor for both gaming and video, the V3D231 features a 1920×1080 resolution, integrated SRS Premium Sound speakers, and comes bundled with a pair of polarized 3D glasses. That last feature may be a deal-breaker for some potential 3D monitor owners, many of whom will probably balk at the idea of buying a monitor that requires the use of glasses.
ViewSonic is also bundling the monitor with the TriDef 3D software suite, which allows users to convert over 500 PC games into 3D.
The V3D231 sells for $349 and is shipping today.
