Vodafone is racing to fix a network outage that was caused by a break-in on Sunday night.
Some Vodafone customers — the company has not yet specified how many — have been experiencing problems accessing voice, text and mobile internet services. In a statement on Monday morning, a spokesperson for Vodafone said the firm "had a break-in last night at one of our technical facilities which resulted in damage done to some of our equipment".
"This means that some customers may be experiencing temporary loss of voice, SMS and internet services," the spokesperson said. "We are working quickly to restore these and will be back to normal as soon as we can."
Vodafone's spokesperson added that the break-in had resulted in "no impact on the privacy of customers' data".
