Web searches growth: Google grows by 6%, Yahoo! by 9%, MSN loses 4%

Nielsen//NetRatings reports 5% in Internet searches between Q1 2005 and Q2 2005. Smaller search engines reaped greater benefits out of search growth, with number of searches at Ask.

Nielsen//NetRatings reports 5% in Internet searches between Q1 2005 and Q2 2005. Smaller search engines reaped greater benefits out of search growth, with number of searches at Ask.com increasing by 16% and AOL Search growing 15%. However, Google still remained the undisputed king of the search engine world with 6% growth. Yahoo! grew by 9%, and MSN was the only top search engine to lose audience, receiving 4% fewer searches in Q2 2005.
