Beginning April 1, ZDNet will be expanding coverage and adding two new faces as well as one returnee.
First, we're adding Kevin Tofel to the ZDNet family to cover Apple and mobile platforms. Kevin previously worked in IT at large enterprises and has been covering mobile technology since 2003. He also co-hosts the MobileTechRoundup podcast with our own Matthew Miller. Most recently Kevin was a writer for GigaOm.
We're also going to branch out our coverage into robotics with the addition of Greg Nichols, who has been covering the space and is penning a book on the subject. Our spin on robotics will look at the business implications as well as the cultural. Gartner and other research firms have been prodding CIOs to think about smart machines and robots as part of the technology workforce. The Internet of things and smart devices will also intersect with robotics in the not too distant future.
And our final addition for the month is a familiar face, Andrew Brust. Andrew will pick up our big data coverage and also write for Tech Pro Research covering the industrial Internet of things. Andrew most recently worked for GigaOm Pro.
