Will Google 'mess up' YouTube?

Chad Hurley, CEO and Co-Founder of YouTube, vowed Tuesday that despite Google ownership, "The community will remain the most important part of YouTube." I heard Suzie Reider, CMO, YouTube, vow last week that marketers won't be "messing up" YouTube (see "YouTube on marketers: Won't be messing it up").

I heard Suzie Reider, CMO, YouTube, vow last week that marketers won't be "messing up" YouTube (see "YouTube on marketers: Won't be messing it up").

But what about Google? How will the $150 billion market cap advertising machine make its $1.65 billion YouTube purchase pay off? Google CEO Eric Schmidt promised Tuesday "new business opportunities" at YouTube for Google partners.

Once Google rolls out its "new business opportunities" at YouTube, how will YouTubers react? Will YouTube be "messed up" in the eyes of the YouTube community when Google applies its advertising magic to the "broadcast yourself" formula?
