At the Windows Show '97 this week the firm showed WebFiler Interactive, based on technology acquired with the recent purchase of Alpha Software Corporation. The package allows users to create databases so long as a browser that supports frames is installed. The product is aimed at SME businesses that want to store data on intranets or the Internet. It will ship by April.

Separately, SoftQuad said it had released a free upgrade to Hot Metal Pro 3.0 that adds a cascading style sheets editor, batch conversion abilities and new templates.
