Before the launching of the system, which should happen at the end of 2001, leaders of the Brazilian IT industry are supporting the new operating system. PC makers are waiting to offer consumers products that combine hardware innovations with the new Windows XP. According to Angela Goldenberg, market analyst at Sao Paulo's Tech Bureau, "After the Windows XP launching announcement a contraction of new PC demand happened". She said the users are waiting for the retail stores to begin selling the new OS in order to buy their PC.
