Workday said it has acquired Platfora, which provides analytics, data discovery, and visualization tools.

The company said in a blog post that Platfora's technology will be integrated into Workday Financial Management and Human Capital Management.

As noted by CFO Robynne Sisco, Workday typically buys companies and technology that can be tucked into its platform.

Details about the Platfora integration will be outlined at Workday's Rising conference in September.

Terms of the deal, which will close in the third quarter, weren't disclosed.

In an FAQ, Workday said the Platfora team will stay in its San Mateo office.

Here's a look at a Platfora screenshot.
