Speak no evil...

Speak no evil...

Former WorldCom executives Bernie Ebbers and Scott Sullivan have invoked the Fifth Amendment to avoid giving evidence to Capitol Hill. Sullivan, who was sacked as CFO after the uncovering of the $3.8bn fraud scandal, was yesterday accused of misleading the internal auditor and trying to delay the investigation. Co-founder and former CEO Ebbers told congressional investigators he would be cleared of any wrong doing and declined to answer direct questions from the House financial services committee. Ebbers risked opening himself up to contempt by declaring his innocence prior to taking the Fifth.
