Just a quick note to say that the latest version of the elegant and lightweight XFCE window manager now includes support for remote file sharing. I like XFCE, I use it on my network of old Dell training laptops.
This isn't a huge leap for mankind but it is darned useful for front-end web development work like what I do: whizz open an SFTP connection in the file manager, boot up my trusty GUI text editor Geany and an-editing-I-will-go.
I know, I know, I could learn Vim, and do everything through a terminal. But I can never remember all those darned shortcuts for moving the cursor around and putting stuff places.
