YCH to handle SCM for Telecom Equipment

Telecom Equipment Pte Ltd (TEPL) has signed up YCH to be its fulfillment partner for its telco products in Singapore for the next five years.

SINGAPORE - Telecom Equipment Pte Ltd (TEPL) has signed up YCH to be its fulfillment partner for its telco products in Singapore for the next five years.

YCH is a Singapore-based supply chain solutions and logistics management company while Telecom Equipment is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SingTel. The multimillion-dollar contract was announced today.

The partnership allows Telecom Equipment to focus more on key competitive strengths while outsourcing logistics and supply chain requirements to YCH.

YCH will be employing their supply chain solutions to manage the distribution of consumer goods to all SingTel shops and authorized agents, as well as to end consumers for orders placed online from the SingTel Website.

YCH is also responsible for the flow of goods received from TEPL's local and overseas suppliers, repackaging of goods, and delivery of goods for consumers in a timely manner.

The products that will be managed include brands such as Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia and Samsung.

"By outsourcing the entire process to YCH, we will be able to concentrate on our core business..." said Mr Lum Hon Fye, CEO of TEPL.

"In line with our strategy to achieve maximum operational efficiency, this partnership will allow us to increase our existing capacity by 1.5 times as well as provide significant cost savings, in our fulfillment requirements to over 100 distribution points," he added.
