On Wednesday, CBS MoneyWatch, a ZDNet sister site, was blacklisted by Google due to what appeared to be malware from us.
I was going to post about this Wednesday afternoon, but frankly the engineering team was busy trying to figure out what was going on I didn't have much to go with. Simply put, it was quite a Bugzilla read.
In the meantime, Sucuri noted something was amiss. After further investigation, we found no malware on ZDNet.com. In the end, it appears to be a false positive. Should anyone in the security research community find something different please ping me.
A Google spokesman said:
"We're constantly improving and working on our anti-malware scanners and classifiers, which help us protect Internet users with an extremely high success rate. In this case, a complex interaction of script libraries resulted in an incorrect classification, which we have since reversed. Our systems are designed to enable us to correct rare instances like this very quickly."
