Well, well, well, what do we have here?

If wmpoweruser.com is to be believed, it's the new Zune player, that's what.

The site says "it seems the ZuneHD will feature a lot of what Windows Mobile owners have long been waiting for," including a capacitive, multi-touch OLED screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio and TV out via an HDMI port.

The radio will now be HD and the device will support HD media playback, which will be available from the updated Zune Marketplace, it says. Oh, and add 3D Xbox games to that list, too.

The device is expected to arrive in 16 and 32 GB versions, both of which will support wireless sync and will have a browser that supports multi-touch. It's also rumored that the ZuneHD will have some nVidia Tegra love inside, too.

The site says the Windows Mobile 7 device is set to launch this September in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and France, among others.

ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley thinks this Zune is Microsoft's last hurrah for the portable media player, and I can certainly understand the (smart) move toward services. But if all of these stats are to be believed, it's a wonder why Microsoft would give up on such an accomplished device. (After all, Apple still has the market cornered with the iPod touch).

My guess is that this is definitely not the last we'll see of a Zune player. And if the ZuneHD is all true, that's a good thing.
