iPad 3 to be released on March 7?
Rene Ritchie writing for iMore claims that the iPad 3 announcement will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012.
Citing "sources who have been reliable in the past," iMore reiterates previously rumors specs for the highly anticipated device including a 2048 × 1536 Retina display, quad-core Apple A6 system-on-a-chip, and the possibly of 4G LTE networking.
iLounge has previously reported that the iPad 3 will have better cameras, including an HD FaceTime cammy on the front and an 8MP sensor on the rear.
No word on previous rumors that the iPad would include a "double capacity" battery. While it stands to reason that more juice would be needed to power the notorious power-hungry LTE radio, I'm not sure that it'll be "double capacity."
March 7 jives with AllThingsD's report last week that the next iPad event is scheduled for the first week in March. iMore notes that Wednesdays are a traditional day for Apple to hold these types of events.
The Loop posted a one-word blog agreeing with iMore's March 7 date, stating simply Yep. Geez, what is this Storage Wars or something?
Update: 9to5Mac reports that San Fransisco’s Yerba Buena Center site of Apple's iPad and iPad 2 announcements is conveniently available on March 7.
