CIOs are increasingly confident about their corporate outlooks for the second quarter with a net 7 percent of respondents planning to hire more workers, according to a Robert Half Technology survey.
Chief information officers are increasingly confident about their corporate outlooks for the second quarter with a net 7 percent of respondents planning to hire more workers, according to a Robert Half Technology survey.
Among the key data points from the Robert Half Technology survey of 1,400 CIOs:
- 9 percent of CIOs plan to expand their IT departments with 2 percent planning cutbacks. Overall, that tally is a net 7 percent increase in IT hiring activity.
- 80 percent of CIOs are confident in their company's growth products
- 73 percent of CIOs were at least "somewhat optimistic" about their companies investing in IT projects in the quarter ahead.
- 13 percent of CIOs said that security and networking workers were the hardest to find. Applications development was second with 11 percent of CIOs citing shortages.
- Network administrators was the skill in greatest demand as 65 percent of CIOs cited that skill.
- Windows server administration was cited as the highest demanded skill by 60 percent of CIOs. CIOs could enter more than one response.
- If you want a job go to the South Atlantic region. In this region, 15 percent of ICOs said they planned to add IT staff. By vertical, financial services, insurance and real estate planned to hire the most.
