Enthusiasm for Google+ has gained momentum fairly quickly in the last week, and it would surely grow exponentially once the iOS mobile app version is approved for the iTunes App Store.

Technically, that's IF Apple approves the Google+ app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Although it seems very unlikely (maybe almost impossible) that Apple would turn the app down. (After all, have you seen some of the ridiculous offerings in the App Store? Some of the apps - even paid ones - are downright gross.)

Google technician Erica Joy posted directly on Google+ on July 4th to her "iPhone using friends" that "the Google+ iPhone app has been submitted to the App store (no not today, sometime prior to today) and is awaiting approval."

The average turnaround time between submission and Apple's approval/disapproval is about two to three weeks. But given that this is Google producing the app, the iOS version of the app could be available much sooner - even though Google+ is still only open on an invite-only basis.

Naturally, Google+ for Android is already available to download for free from the Android Market.
