Bluetooth headset designs tend to vary between simple and boring on one end of the spectrum, and then tacky with superfluous details like rhinestones on the other end.

Plantronics, Inc., however, has debuted the sleek and futuristic-looking Explorer 395 headset, which looks like a gadget straight out of J.J. Abrams's version of Star Trek.

Ready to be set up with any Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone, the Explorer 395 hosts Digital Signal Processing technology to reduce noise, echo and wind distortion. As far as operating the device, Plantronics has chucked the single all-purpose button for a set of different keys to control volume, power on/off and call answer/end.

Obviously, style is an key factor on this 0.39-ounce headset, which has been built with a contoured ear tip and ergonomically designed swivel earloop. Users can also expect up to five hours of talk time and seven days on standby after full charge.

You can pick one up now for $49.95 in either black/silver or bronze/silver.
