The official Apple Store mobile app got an update this morning, and there's a little something extra unexpected: the white-exterior version of the iPhone 4 has been listed.

The keyword there is "listed," as if you tap on the item, you can't pre-order it just yet. (However, if you've magically been able to access it, please let us know in the TalkBack section.)

Originally, the snowy-styled iPhone 4 was supposed to drop in late July, but that got pushed back to late 2010 altogether. As we're approaching the end of the year, maybe anyone who has held out this long for the frosty iPhone 4 will finally get their hands on one.

Was this a slip-up on Apple's part, or is the device finally almost ready for shipment? We can't be completely sure as Apple hasn't said anything official about the matter yet. It's possible that Apple wants to avoid any further press about the iPhone 4 after the mess it caused back in July. Then again, the holiday season is upon us, so this would be the optimal time to drop the second (and hopefully improved) iPhone 4 edition.

Have you been waiting to buy an iPhone 4 in white?
