Today the UPS guy dropped off the latest phone in the Verizon Droid line of Android handsets-- the Droid Charge. The Charge is the first phone made by Samsung bearing the Droid moniker, and has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen that may be the best I've ever seen on a phone. That includes the famous Retina Display on the iPhone 4.

Unfortunately the Verizon 4G (LTE) network is in the middle of a nationwide outage, so I haven't been able to do much with the Droid Charge due to a lack of connectivity. These brief observations will have to tide you over for now, along with a tour of the Charge presented in photos. The photos include some shots showing the Charge side-by-side with the other Verizon 4G phone, the HTC Thunderbolt.
