Google Apps is being reworked and upgraded with the intention of providing better customer support to its corporate user base.

The two big improvements coming to the Google Apps for Work support program focus on chat and in-product assistance.

For starters, Google is infusing product interfaces with contextual support documentation and help articles at your fingertips in the product interface. This means once a Google Apps for Work user is logged in, one can select "Help" from the drop-down menu for references.

If that doesn't suffice, users can also obtain a direct link to call Google's Help Center from the same window.

For instant help with live assistance, Google Apps is bumping up chat support from a pilot for a small pool of Google Apps admins to widespread general support for all English-language Apps administrators worldwide.

Although specifics in terms of languages and a release roadmap were not revealed, the Internet giant promised that chat support in more languages will follow in the coming months.

Although it doesn't involve a product upgrade, Hangouts is getting a boost from another business angle as well.

Arguably one of the most popular features on Google+, the video conferencing function will now be covered under the same Terms of Service blanketing other Google Apps services, such as Gmail and Drive.

Thus, Google Apps for Work users can obtain Hangouts support over the phone all hours of the day on top of a promised 99.9 percent uptime rate.
