A minor update from BT on its fibre rollout: nine new exchanges are to be fibre-enabled.
The exchanges are located in five counties — Essex; West Yorkshire; South Yorkshire; Tyne and Wear; and Bedfordshire — with the upgrade work due to begin this summer and conclude by spring next year.
In total, around 58,000 extra premises will be in reach of BT's fibre network once the upgrades are complete.
The exchanges are:
BT's fibre rollout, which is costing £2.5bn, will cover 19 million premises by spring 2014, or around two-thirds of UK homes and businesses.
