The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is bringing several mobile operators and their top executives to court for allegedly violating regulations over mobile number portability , says report.

According to a Times of India report Wednesday, TRAI said Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Loop Mobiles have rejected porting requests from their subscribers in circles such as Mumbai, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra and so on.

The three telcos have also failed to provide TRAI with complete information about the rejected porting requests, said the news daily.

The companies' top executives have been summoned to appear in court on May 25, it added.

The country-wide mobile number portability service was introduced in January 2011. A month after the service was launched, TRAI reported that there have been over 3.8 million requests from subscribers to port their numbers to another operator.
