Pacnet has appointed a new CEO for Australia and New Zealand, following the departure of long-time CEO Deborah Homewood.

Industry veteran Nigel Stitt will step in to replace Homewood. Stitt has been with Pacnet since 2004, and was, until recently, the company's national sales director. Prior to joining Pacnet, Stitt was the general manager of Techcel.

Pacnet global CEO Bill Barney said that as the national sales director, Stitt delivered double-digit growth for the company in Australia.

"We are pleased to appoint Nigel to the helm of Pacnet's Australia and New Zealand operations, where he can fully utilise his industry expertise and business savvy in moving our local business into its next generation," Barney said in a statement.

Homewood, who joined Pacnet in 2002 after a career at AT&T, left Pacnet to pursue a career outside of the telecommunications and IT sector, according to the company.
