Singapore, 19 April 2000 - Xircom Asia Pacific, provider of mobile information access solutions, today announced its new NetStation all-in-one conference room networking device for notebook and handheld PC users.

Xircom's NetStation solution aids multiple mobile users in conference rooms, open meeting areas, offsite work areas, training rooms and other gathering locations within a building. With its built-in retractable Ethernet cables, the NetStation device provides mobile users access to the corporate network from the conference room, eliminating the need for expensive customized networking furniture.

"The Xircom NetStation is a very simple to install and affordable networking solution that enables us to transform a conference room with only one Ethernet drop into a productive and professional setting for our notebook PC-carrying professors and staff," said Larry Carlantonio, computer support specialist, Marymount University.

"Likewise, we can daisy chain several NetStation devices on counters and workstations in the Student Center expanding network access for our student population," he added.

Vincent Choo, system administrator for Lucent Technologies, said: "The Xircom Netstation is a very useful conference room networking solution, we will definitely consider purchasing it for our conference rooms."

Enhanced productivity through conference room networking meetings dominate corporate life today. Research shows that busy professionals attend over 60 meetings per month, consuming more than 30 percent of their time (MCI WorldCom conferencing, "Meetings in America" study).

Mobile users often carry their notebook or handheld PCs throughout the building, with frequent destinations being conference rooms and other meeting locations. Designed for rooms where groups of people come together, Xircom's NetStation is a conference room networking product that gives mobile users network access.

"Our NetStation solution transforms information access for mobile users in the office with an elegant, all-in-one solution that is simple to set up and is much less expensive than specialized, networked conference room furniture," said John DiGiovanni, Xircom Product Line Manager.
