Regular readers here know that I am a big fan of the Evernote application that I use on my PC, Mac, and mobile phones. Evernote just announced an amazing new feature for premium subscribers (I have been a premium subscriber since day 1) that I am sure will be great news for many of you. Evernote now supports PDF Search capabilities so the PDF documents you upload to your account go through their search recognition technology engine servers and are fully searchable within minutes.

I mentioned the public beta availability of the REDFLY Mobile Viewer software that allows you to control and access your Windows Mobile device on your PC. If you download the REDFLY Mobile Viewer software and complete their survey you will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win 2 free round-trip airline tickets from anywhere in the continental US to Hawaii.
In my personal experience, the internet seems to be evolving into a tool that is actually connecting people more than isolating them. I know in the last couple of years that I have met and corresponded with more people than I would have in my limited "real-life" sphere of living. Software and services that connect people are also developing and revolutionizing the way we interact with each other. I am a user of social networking services like Jaiku and Twitter and have been keeping my eye out for others, especially those that can be used from mobile devices. Rudy sent me a press release last week regarding major funding for an interesting social recommendation service called MyStrands that was actually founded in 2003.
I used to wear a watch all the time while I was in the military and then I went through a phase where I just used my phone to for my timekeeping needs. MSN Direct with SPOT (Smart Personal Objects Technology) was launched on watches and I had the opportunity to check out a couple of different models (check out my thoughts on Geek.com from 2004). I liked the services provided by MSN Direct and wore SPOT watches for the next couple of years. The platform slowed down a bit for a while and I was worried it was going away when ABACUS released their Smart Watch 2006 devices. I was sent the ABACUS Smart Watch 2006 with green fabric band for evaluation and am again wearing a SPOT watch.
It isn't often that UMPC and Tablet PC users are taken into consideration during software development, but Ilium Software did just that with their latest beta of eWallet 5.0. Try out the application and see how the synchronization engine lets you work where you want to be.
