Onyx Boox Nova Air C review: Android-based e-book reading, in colour
This functionality offered by this 7.8-inch device goes well beyond what's offered by traditional e-readers -- as does the price tag.

This is a well-made tablet with 4G LTE support and the ability to expand its 128GB of storage via MicroSD. The processor is average and the screen lacks brightness, but the speakers impress.
A 2-in-1 with an OLED screen for £550/$600 looks like an attractive proposition, but the trade-off is a pretty basic level of performance.
HP's Chromebook x2 11 is a nice 11-inch tablet that can double up as a productivity device with its add-on keyboard. But you can buy a competent laptop with a larger screen for a similar price.
It's not a great performer and it'll charge slowly unless you dig out a 15W adapter, but this is a capable and well-built tablet for undemanding use cases.
The 10.3-inch Note Air2 is more portable and affordable, while the larger (13.3-inch) and more expensive Max Lumi2 offers more storage space and longer battery life.
Lenovo's 13.3-inch Yoga Tab 13 offers a decent specification, including a 2K display and excellent quad-speaker audio, but portability is hampered by its bulk and weight.
The Xperia Z2 Tablet is remarkably thin and light, and like its smartphone sibling is waterproof. Even so, it lacks any real 'wow factor' when it comes to functionality.
The TabPRO 8.4 is a good size to carry and hold, has top-notch specifications, and most of Samsung's software tweaks are useful. The price tag and moderate audio quality are its only real drawbacks.
Toshiba's 8-inch Encore can run legacy desktop Windows apps, although you may find them difficult to work with on such a small screen. Performance could be better, but the price is attractive and battery life impressive.
