The XPS 17 9710 may be large and heavy, but it offers a range of 11th-generation Intel Core CPU options, integrated or discrete graphics and a 16:10 FHD+ or UHD+ display. But don't expect all-day battery with the high-resolution screen.

Sony's wide-screen Xperia 10 III is a well-built and long-lasting 5G phone, but its 60Hz refresh rate, an unremarkable camera setup, and lack of fast charging out of the box do it no favours.
Lenovo's 14-inch Yoga 9i has a superb 4K screen and fantastic speakers. Build quality is solid, and there are plenty of configurations on offer. If the leather-clad Shadow Black option doesn't appeal, you'll have to forego the tempered glass wrist rest, haptic touchpad and ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, but that's no great loss.
HP's Elite Folio is a quirky 2-in-1 with considerable appeal, headed up by its superb battery life. Windows on ARM might be a problem for some potential buyers, however, due to app compatibility issues.
Nokia's XR20 should be able to take some punishment, and although the specification is unremarkable, you do get 5G, four years of security updates and virtually no software bloat.
