Jakob Jung

Jakob Jung holds a PhD. in history and American Studies. He has been writing for German IT publications for over twelve years for publications including CRN, InformationWeek, ZDNet, Heise, ECMGuide, Database Developer, Mobile Developer and …Network Computing. His experience of being historian has been surprisingly good preparation for an IT career as nothing becomes obsolete as fast as the latest gadgets.

I work as a freelance editor for ChannelBiz, a sister publication to ZDNet Germany and Silicon Germany. However I am not on the permanent staff of Netmedia Europe. I also work as a freelance author for Web Developer (Neue Mediengesellschaft Ulm, NMG). I am not directly affiliated to NMG either. I have been doing some work for different PR Agencies (mostly translations), but have no permanent ties to any of them.
