I wanted to see what the problems might be with the Dell Venue Pro so I searched around and it seemed they were related to the microSD cards. I swapped out the 8GB card and inserted a 32GB one that is performing like a champ so far.
Is Dell going to announce plans for a Google Android device at Mobile World Congress?
It has been rumored off and on through the last few years that Dell was going to launch a Windows Mobile Smartphone as a natural evolution of its foray into the PDA market with the popular Dell Axim devices. Needless to say, those Dell smartphones never arrived and the rumors just remained rumors. Well, the rumor now is that Dell may launch an Android device in partnership with Google. We already know that HTC, Motorola, and other manufacturers are onboard with the Open Handset Alliance and it is big news to hear that Dell may be joining them.
Dell coupons may help you buy a new Nokia S60 device
I had a chance to hang out with Stefan Constantinescu at the S60 Summit in Madrid and shortly after returning from that trip Stefan moved from his Ring Nokia blog to serving as an editor at IntoMobile. As regular readers know I am also a participant in the Nokia Nseries Blogger Relations program and one of the most frustrating aspects of trying to educate people on the power of the S60 platform is the lack of high-end Nokia devices in the U.S. Stefan discovered something that should hopefully make it easier for people to pick up these devices in the U.S. Dell is now offering high end Nokia S60 devices, including the N80, E61i, N95 and E61. I paid about this same price, US$423.77, for my Nokia E61i from a US importer, but the thing with Dell is you can sometimes get 10% or more off with a coupon code.
RIP Dell Axim handheld lineup
Dell brought price competition to the PDA market 4 years ago and helped bring some innovation to the market at an affordable cost to the consumer. Most mobile devices today have phone integration and more and more are doing away with a touch-screen interface so Dell decided to end the Axim PDA line with the final product being the Axim X51v. It was a great 4 years and I personally am very happy to have lived through a period with Dell competing and holding others feet to the fire in the PDA market.
